Only $3,600 away from our 2020 fundraising goal!
This giving season, be the hope to the many Latinx survivors of domestic violence (DV) and/or sexual assault (SA) in our community.
With survivors being asked to shelter in place, M.i.A. understood that abusers would use the economic downfall as an excuse to further their abuse at home. We then worked together with local partners to create a fund that would help undocumented families with emergency funds to cover their rents.
M.i.A. knew the need was even bigger than what that fund could cover so we focused on providing survivors with safe housing options by subcontracting with the YWCA Spokane and creating a housing program called Puerto Seguro (Safe Harbor). We can now offer survivors of DV with safe housing options and support them until they are able to do so on their own.
